Apache Ridge Ranch - 5,645± ac - Hudspeth County, TX

West Texas is worth the drive because you can finally escape the hustle and bustle of the masses and stretch your eyes over some incredible landscape! To the north and east, you can see the Black Mountains and even get a glimpse of the Guadalupe Mountains in the distance, bringing a romantic feel to the desert landscape. The area was once home to the Apache Indians, and it feels like nothing much has changed since they roamed the land. The ranch is rolling to semi-mountainous with several draws running generally to the north and east. The ranch is watered by one water well and six earth stock tanks. Hunting on the ranch, while challenging, will surely be just as rewarding with whitetail, mule deer, antelope, blue quail, and perhaps an Aoudad or Elk. Location: Apache Ridge Ranch is approximately 25 miles north of Sierra Blanca in the east-central part of Hudspeth County at the end of a private easement. Acreage: The ranch consists of 5,645± acres. All in native pasture. Topography: The topography on Apache Ridge Ranch is rolling to semi-mountainous with approximately 250 feet of elevation change. There are several draws and canyons traversing the property from the southwest to the northeast creating verdant green oasis-like bottoms where the grasses, forbs and other flora species flourish. Most of these draws have at least one earth tank and seem to be heavily traveled by wildlife. Rainfall/Elevation: According to the Texas Almanac Online, Hudspeth County receives approximately 10 inches of rainfall per year. Cover: Far West Texas is tough, and the plant species that inhabit the area are even tougher! Cover on this ranch is a mix of creosote bush, Mesquite and several types of lower browse plants including Elbow bush and Vine Ephedra (Mormon's Tea). Also, there is just about any type of cactus you can imagine creating a very diverse habitat with an incredible amount of rugged beauty. Fences: The fences on this ranch are old, but in very good condition. They are 5 strand barbed wire on cedar posts. Additionally, there is a set of wooden pens on the south end of the ranch which are also in good working condition. Utilities: There are currently no utilities connected to the ranch, but co-op electricity is available 1 mile south of the ranch on Frederick Road Water: The ranch is watered by 1 water well which is approximately 900 feet deep. The well is pumped with generators and then piped to several watering stations through the center portion of the ranch. Additionally, there are 6 earth tanks on the property. The tanks all appear to be recently cleaned out and in good condition. All but 1 were holding water at the time the photos were taken. July 2024. Hunting: This area of Texas is known to have very diverse hunting including both whitetail and mule deer, Audad, antelope and occasionally an elk or two. Blue quail are also abundant in the area. The current seller has not hunted the ranch, so bring your hunting equipment and enjoy! Price: The property is priced at $1,975,750.
