Just south of Pearl Creek, we wound along the James River Valley, and the home appeared to our right on the far bank. The large maintenance-free steel roof has an extended slope protecting the home from the north winter winds. We turned into the private drive, and one-third mile north of 225th Street, the southwest-facing wall of windows in the lodge came into view.
