Hayground House Cottage is a quaint, serenely private retreat nestled on a gated 4.5 acre historic park-like estate in Bridgehampton with 200 year-old trees. The main Hayground House was built in 1870 and was once owned by the Topping and Rose families after which the nearby Topping-Rose House Restaurant and Inn was named. Hayground House had been in the same family for 70 years until it was acquired and renovated by the present owner in 2023. The mid-century A-frame Cottage enjoys high ceilings with wood beams, and whitewashed knotty-pine walls and floors. Take your coffee, tea or green juice in the morning on your sunny front porch and enjoy the sunset on your larger shaded back porch and gaze at your own private garden. Hayground Cottage features one bedroom with antique wrought-iron queen bed, ample closets, a full bath with shower, washer & dryer and full kitchen with electric range. Air-conditioned in summer; cozily heated in winter, the Cottage offers complete privacy with its own driveway off the main circular driveway, and trees separating it from the main house. A separate yoga or art studio is accessible from the rear porch. The Cottage is fully furnished including an 1866 upright Steinway piano with an iconic Broadway history so it's the perfect place to relax, read a novel, write a novel, or compose a new musical or a symphony. A large flat-screen TV with AppleTV graces the living room wall, high speed wifi is included in the lease. The Cottage is less than a mile from the center of Bridgehampton, so even in summer traffic it's minutes away to dine at Pierre's, Almond, Dopo Il Ponte, Bobby Van's, Candy Kitchen, Sip N' Soda, Armin & Judy...and of course Topping Rose House. The Bridgehampton Commons is also close with stores ranging from King Kullen and Staples, to Williams-Sonoma, Barnes & Noble & The Gap. Flying Point Beach is under 3 miles away. WIFI, Electric and heat included in rent.
